The PlaneEnglish Air Traffic Simulator (ATSim) is an interactive air traffic control radio simulator designed to facilitate the learning and mastery of radio communication and phraseology by air traffic controllers at their convenience. ATSim offers a self-paced method for honing radio skills through repetition and immediate feedback.

AI-driven aviators engage with the controller to make requests and comply with instructions. Realistic scenarios guide controllers towards proficiency in aviation phraseology and communication, supported by instantaneous feedback using voice recognition and speech analysis.

With access to over 170 airports, users can navigate through lessons encompassing airport, terminal area, and in-transit control of both VFR and IFR flights.

In line with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards for phraseology, as well as radiotelephony procedures, the current version of the simulator concentrates on FAA phraseology standards. Future enhancements will allow users to toggle between ICAO and FAA standards.

Subsequent releases and updates to ATSim will enrich the training modules, lessons, and scenarios on offer.
